The Lone Star Drift 2013 season got on it's way in Houston, Texas at Greyhound Park a couple of weeks ago. Lone Star Drift is a grassroots drift event where drivers compete to earn a Formula Drift license but it's also a great place to learn about drifting and just have a great time. This was our second consecutive year attending the event and we notice a substantial growth in attendance. It makes us happy to see such a great grassroots turn out. Make sure to follow Lone Star Drift and attend if you can! A bit thank you to both
Fabricated Motorsports and
Non Stop Tuning for having us out! Photo gallery after the jump. -

There were a variety of machines in attendance including Ryan Rohrbach's LS1 powered S13 from San Antonio. This was Ryan's first time driving a LS1 powered car since he was a prior proponent of the VH45 swap. The car was finished just a couple of days before the event but looked and sounded amazing.

A closer shot of Ryan's newly installed LS1.

This is Tim Koenning's 1jz powered Lexus SC300. We have been noticing more and more SC300 in the drift scene lately. Perhaps it has something to do with Robbie Noshida driving his SC300 in Formula Drift... or maybe it's just a bad ass car.

This 350Z belongs to Mario Gomez. It has a Vq35 HR motor, SPL suspension parts, and turns out 300 whp.

This is Dwayne Ramsey's 2JZ with stock twin turbo powered Cressida. Ramsey is committed to going pro as he drove all the way from Florida to compete in the event. The Cressida, is a Japanese classic, and is one of those cars that has that "unlikely to be a drift car" look which makes it just that much more fun to watch.

Michael Van's 580whp BMW E36 M3 is one of the more well built cars in the series and also happens to have the most horse power. The build is similar to Chelsea Denofa's E36.

Brad Burnett's AE86. Runs a 1UZ V8 Lexus motor!

We'll end it with Fielding Shredder's S14 which qualified 1st that day. Fielding's 360 whp S14 is 2jz powered with a 30R single turbo. We hope you enjoyed the photos and don't forget to follow our friends at
